It could be that the drive is formatted in a file system that 98 can't deal with properly. by R. On the next screen find the Sandisk entry under left-hand lists of manufacturers and click on Sandisk. But with each new improvement in hardware, each new version of operating system is bloated, bug-ridden, and comes heavily packed with heaven knows what running in the background.
